XAL: Muse

Acoustic absorption for a better office environment

NewImage

Quiet surroundings form a basic human need that is
too often neglected today. And steps taken to improve
room acoustics are often just half-heartedly executed. In
developing MUSE, we have created a product that is both
particularly effective, and at the same time deliberately
raises awareness of its influence. Simple forms and an
attractive surface make up the design that becomes an
equal part of the interior design concept.

The interior and product designer Katharina Schmidt
has consistently focused on room acoustics in her professional
career. The best possible performance literally
sets the tone when designing and developing her acoustic
room elements. Katharina Schmidt exudes a deep
personal enthusiasm for the evocative and distinctive
products and symbiotic solutions she creates that not
only provide for a peaceful work environment but also
stimulate the senses. MUSE allows the architect to focus
on the building layout.

NewImage

The felt-like material of MUSE is made from 50% recycled PET.

The material is precision formed and com-
bines three key advantages: inherent stability, high acoustic eff ectiveness and a high surface quality that is pleasant to see and touch. As a result, MUSE both generates a benefi cial level of well-being while combining a high degree of environ-
mental responsibility.

WILA: Siro

WILA: Siro, the suspended up+downlight

Highest quality of light plus minimalist design.

Csm SIRO farben 19b5f5bf26

The filigree pendant luminaires of the new product range Siro from WILA provide the perfect quality of light for performing accent lighting tasks. Their lean design in 80 and 120 mm diameter as well as versatile colour combinations allow for an unobtrusive integration into any type of architecture. Due to the built-in driver, direct and indirect light emissions from Siro luminaires can be switched separately. With CRI 98 and CRI 83 and 1x2SDCM the light quality produces perfect lighting results and a harmonious overall look when combined with, for instance, alphabet spectra recessed luminaires because of the identical quality of light.
Due to the balanced shadowing this mix of direct/indirect light creates a lively and inviting setting in foyers. The stepped back mirror reflector made of pure high-polished aluminium (Al99.98) also ensures highest visual comfort. In addition, WILA offers the Siro product family with a diameter of 160 mm, the lights are perfectly glare-free and with UGR < 19, 65° < 1000 cd/m² suitable for VDU workstations.

The Siro product family is perfect for any mounting situation. Up/Downlight, the cylindrical surface-mounted or pendent luminaires offer the ideal solutions for concrete ceilings or ceiling restrictions. A uniform lighting level can be retained despite differing ceiling heights by combining pendant luminaires with Downlights.

The slim housing with a diameter of 80 mm, sets the tone in attractive colour combinations of white, black and silver. At the same time, the extruded aluminium profile without joint provides an ideal heat conduction and thus a long service life of up to 50,000 hours.

A sample is avalaible on simple demand. Just ask.

ARCHITECT@WORK Luxembourg is centred around architecture and water

The 11 international editions of ARCHITECT@WORK organised in 2015 were a huge success. We are already looking forward to what 2016 will bring. It will definitely be an important year, with both the editions of Luxemburg and Rotterdam as well as the expansion of the number of organisations with new fairs in Rome and Istanbul.

Although the second edition in Luxemburg is still a couple of months away (13-14 April), we can already give you a glimpse of what is to come. Several important decisions have already been made, including the choice of the central theme: ‘Architecture and Water’.

“The international editions in 2015, including the successful first fairs in Copenhagen and Vienna, all confirmed it: the concept launched in 2015, configured on the basis of the stand concept designed by Creative Fo(u)r, keeps on charming the visitors,” Group Exhibition Manager Nathalie Sandra says. “The results from the various surveys confirm every time that both exhibitors as well as visitors very much appreciate our current approach.”

After determining the new theme, the various activities were decided on as well. ARCHITECT@WORK has the pleasure to welcome the paperJam Business Club for the second time, which will, together with Archiduc, organise the conference ‘10 x 6 Architecture: ces bâtiments que vous ne verrez jamais…’. The materials exhibition of this edition – organised by Materia – is entitled ‘Wonders of Water’. Furthermore the ‘Online Product Directory’ by Archello will be continued and the visitors will be able to discover the photographic exhibition of World-Architects.

As top of the bill OAI (l’Ordre des architectes et des ingénieurs-conseils) is also presenting its exhibition ‘Mir maache Lëtzebuerg’.

ARCHITECT@WORK Luxembourg is taking place on 13 and 14 April in Luxexpo.
SIPEL will take part in this event.

You will find us at PLATEK TRILUX XAL
